Urban Strokes: The Abstract Expressionist Tote Collection

Project Overview

An energetic and unapologetically bold tote bag collection inspired by modern art and street-style rebellion. Channeling the chaotic beauty of spontaneous creativity, this series blends painterly splashes with urban edge—designed for artists, creatives, and anyone who embraces vibrant self-expression in everyday life.

Year of Completion: 2025

Graphic Design

Each tote features dynamic brushstrokes, color drips, and splatter patterns in high-impact hues—electric orange, deep indigo, cyan, magenta, lime green, and violet—colliding on a neutral canvas base. The contrast between the raw cotton texture and expressive color bursts evokes the look of a graffiti wall or modernist painting in motion. Each design is intentionally unbalanced and freeform, reflecting the unpredictable rhythm of creativity.

Challenges & Solutions

Challenges Faced:

  • Translating intense brushstroke energy into print without losing vibrancy or clarity.

  • Achieving sharp, high-res edge quality on natural fabric without bleed.

Solutions Implemented:

  • Developed layered vector + raster hybrid graphics to control color density and blend mode.

  • Conducted digital fabric simulations to optimize saturation against canvas fibers.

  • Used CMYK-to-PANTONE color matching for consistency across bulk runs.
